Pepper was purchased in the fall of 1997 from Sharron and Wayne Hinkle of Sharrway farm. Sharron helped show us how to properly condition and train miniature horses. The following spring Pepper began his winning ways. Every show we went to Pepper could do no wrong. He was winning one Grand Championship after another and was hauled from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois during the summer of 1998. From there he went on to the 1998 AMHR Nationals where he won the Model class, Aged class, Senior Champion, and the prestigious award National Grand Champion Gelding in the "B" division. He also won youth halter and placed third in the youth showmanship class. This all done the year his owner/partner Kelli Shaw was the 1998 AMHR National Queen. What more could a young lady want than to award your horse one of the highest honors in the show ring! Pepper then went on to win the Youth Horse of the year in 1999 and the Area V horse of the year. Together with Kelli, Pepper has 7 National Championships ranging from Halter, Jumping and Versatility along with numerous Top Tens.

Pepper has since been retired from the show ring and now is the resident babysitter of the broodmare band as he is our very own "Foal Alert" system who lets us know when the mares are about to foal, and that's no kidding.
